Reading stem 1

Filed Under (Home Page) by on 09-03-2013 and tagged , ,

I am reading (on read for my school)  George Brown class clown. I am going to summarize the book. George Brown was the class clown at his old school but he decides he should change when he attends his new school. As George tries to change, something takes over after George has  saw a shooting star and has wished ‘I want to make kids laugh but not get into trouble.’ I think that George is unhappy that he is new and that he doesn’t want to be like the George he used to be. I infer this because in the book it says ‘That was the old George, the new George was a new improved George, not a class clown’ I predict that  he will wish to be like everybody else and will be boring so he wishes something else. I have often wanted to be like somebody else but found out it is hard to be a different character than you really are, it is a bit like acting. I like doing magic tricks, like George and have tried to do them but they didn’t work out well. I think that George will realize at the end of the story that he is not very good at being the new George and is only good at being the old George. The old George liked being funny and making people laugh and the new George wanted to be like everybody else. I predict that George will make friends and then he will have to move again. I am really enjoying this book because it makes me laugh a lot.

It is great to ee how much progress you are making when writing your reading stems, Charlotte. I can tell you are really thinking about your reading and so improving those reading skills. I do notice that you have used one word at least 16 times (at least 3 times in one sentence). I wonder if you can identify what word it is and tell me what kind of words you could have used instead. This will help to make your writing flow even better.
