The jeweller giant carefully threaded the golden beads, carefully, carefully. Watching, making sure all was right, all was perfect. He wouldn’t tell anyone who this amazing masterpiece was for. It was a mystery, all around town the giants gathered asking questions all about what the jeweller was doing. He had blocked off the windows, blocked off the doors, it was all a commotion, all pandemonium as they would ask each other,
“Is it for me, what do you think?”
Finally, something grand was placed on the necklace, no one was allowed to know what it was yet they all knew it was magical, mystical and brand new.
Meanwhile, Buddy, who was a child giant, was in his home. Back from a tiring day at school that made him fell distraught and lost. As he sat across the table from his caring mum and dad he explained all. How he was laughed at, by a class enemy who always bullied him, when he asked from his teacher. And also how someone pushed him in the mud and he had to sit sad and lonely. He was an only child and didn’t have much courage and was especially lonely. It was his birthday the next day yet all he wanted was a friend yet his parents both knew that it was impossible to buy a friend!
“Have you had any more thoughts for your birthday Buddy? You’re me or your father can always go to town when you have gone to bed waiting to be a year older.” exclaimed Buddy’s mother as he sat eating his tea,
“I don’t know mum, all I really need is a friend.” replied Buddy yet what he didn’t know was his mum had a secret present ready to give him the next day.
Happily, Buddy hopped up the stairs to bed and waved his mum off, as she was going to the town to pick up his secret gift. His father hurried him too bed and he dreamed happily of the next day, as he was going to a year older the very next day. Meanwhile in the town, his mother was entering the jewellers shop; she was talking to the jeweller and then gazing at a masterpiece happily.
The next morning was Buddy’s birthday, he was so excited and he felt so special! His mother and farther gave him his gift, a small box, well for a giant it would be small, to a human it would be the size of a house! He opened it and then revealed the great thing everyone was wondering about, necklace for him with a grand locket on it, it was magical. Buddy sat there staring at it, carefully touching each bead with care, he got to the locket, opened it up and there inside was a blue mist, it was a spirit, his parents had found him a friend. He wasn’t sure whether to talk to the spirit or shut it back inside the locket as that was its home. Then something happened
“Hello there, I am the spirit of your locket, I am here for you when times are hard, your parents got you me to keep you happy, do you want me or shall I leave?” spoke the voice of the spirit,
“Of course I want you, your amazing, thank you mum and dad, it’s the best present ever!” and Buddy was never lonely ever again!

Anna, I loved reading this story. I love the way that you introduced the story, making the reader want to read on to find out who the necklace was for. You also created empathy for the main character Buddy, and I know I was desperate to find out whether or not he would get the gift he really wanted. I am so glad that he did.
I do hope you continue the story of Buddy, I amsure that your many readers will want to find out more.
